Creation or Evolution: What Does the Evidence Reveal?

One such big lie, which was repeatedly taught to us in schools and which many people have come to believe, is the theory of evolution. Today, through the same lie, the devil is also trying to “brainwash” our children.

QUOTES FROM MY DAUGHTER’S SCHOOL TEXTBOOK

“The history of the Universe began approximately 15–20 billion years ago with the so-called Big Bang. The Earth, which is approximately 4.5 billion years old, was initially devoid of life because of its high temperature. Only after it cooled could water appear, and in it the first living organisms. Evidence indicates that life has existed for approximately 3.8 billion years.” Encyclopaedia for Secondary School Students, p. 329.

“The evidence for evolution is indisputable.” Interesting Biology, p. 44 (a textbook for secondary school students).

THE BANANA AND THE SPIDER

In one of his creation seminars, Kent Hovind told a story about something that happened when he was only six years old. One morning, he and his older brother went to the kitchen to have breakfast, but there was only one banana left. Kent got there first and took it, but his older brother wanted it too. So his brother thought for a moment and said:

— Do you know where bananas come from?

— No.

— Bananas come from large, ugly spiders with long, dangling legs. The spider hangs from a tree, and when it grows old, it rots and dries up and gradually turns into a banana.

— I don’t believe you — the boy replied. — You’re only saying that because you want to eat my banana.

— I’m telling you the truth, and if you don’t believe me, cut the banana in half and I’ll prove it to you.

When the boy cut the banana into two pieces, his older brother said:

— Do you see those black dots in the middle? Those are the remains of the spider’s legs.

And the little boy believed him, and from that time on, for three years he could not eat bananas!!!

The boy would not have believed that lie if it had not been for those black spots inside the banana. If we want someone to believe a lie, we have to combine that lie with some element of truth.

No one kills a rat by giving it pure poison, but by mixing poison with good food that the rat likes. In such a deadly mixture for a rat, there is only 0.005% poison and as much as 99.995% good food.

The same principle applies to the theory of evolution. Like poison hidden in good food, the evolutionary lie has been mixed with genuine scientific facts, wrapped in impressive scientific language, and presented as unquestionable truth. Then, repeated for generations by scientists, universities, textbooks, schools, documentaries, and the media, it has gradually entered the minds of millions of sincere and intelligent people.

The theory of evolution is such a poison—a great lie mixed with genuine scientific facts, dressed in scientific language, and presented as established truth. Repeated for generations by scientists, universities, schools, textbooks, documentaries, and the media, it has become one of the most successful forms of brainwashing in history. Through this great deception, the enemy of truth has led millions of sincere and intelligent people to reject the Creator and believe that life created itself and humanity arose by blind, unguided processes.

ROGER MORNEAU ON THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION

Roger Morneau (1925–1998) was a former Satan worshipper who later became a committed Seventh-day Adventist Christian. In his book A Trip Into the Supernatural, he described what a Satanist high priest had told him about Satan’s strategy to undermine Christianity. According to Morneau’s testimony, the theory of evolution was regarded by Satan and his fallen spirits as an extremely successful means of destroying faith in the Bible while appearing to be science:

“The spirits decided that when the two children [Charles Darwin and Thomas Henry Huxley] became adults, they would be the instruments to advance the religion that we know as the theory of evolution. By tying it in with the scientific revolution breaking across the world most people would never even recognize that it (evolution theory) was a religion (because like any religion it requires faith to believe in it). The spirits consider anyone who teaches the theory of evolution to be a minister of that great religious system.” — Roger Morneau, A Trip Into the Supernatural, pp. 46–47.

Morneau explained why, according to the priest, Satan considered evolution so valuable:

“The priest explained that Satan and his counselors had concluded that they could use the theory of evolution to destroy the very foundation of the Bible. They could turn it against the creation week, the fall, and the plan of redemption.” — Roger Morneau, A Trip Into the Supernatural, p. 47.

In his recorded testimony, Morneau described the strategy in even stronger terms:

“The third point in the plan of Lucifer and his spirit counselors was to destroy the Bible, without burning it. If a person was led to believe in the theory of evolution, it would in his life destroy completely the creation week of the Bible, the fall of man, and the plan of redemption.” — Roger Morneau, recorded testimony, A Trip Into the Supernatural.

According to Morneau’s testimony, evolution was therefore presented as one of Satan’s most successful strategies: disguise the deception as science, spread it throughout the world, and use it to undermine confidence in Genesis, the Creation week, the Fall, and the plan of redemption. Once the literal Creation week is rejected, the biblical foundation of the seventh-day Sabbath—the memorial of God as Creator—is also undermined (Genesis 2:1–3; Exodus 20:8–11).

WHO CREATED THE UNIVERSE?

Who created the universe? The very word “UNIVERSE” itself may give us an answer to this question. What does the word “universe” mean?

The word consists of two Latin elements: “uni” — in compound words meaning “one” or “single”, and “versum,” or “verse,” which is, of course, a sentence composed of words.

So what does the word “universe” mean? It is a single sentence!

What does this expression remind us of? What did God say in the beginning when He created the world?

He spoke individual sentences, for example: “Let there be light!” etc.

HOW DID THE UNIVERSE BEGIN?

Excerpt from an American elementary-school textbook:

“How did the universe originate? Most astronomers believe that about 20 billion years ago the matter of the entire universe was so highly compressed that it may have occupied a space much smaller than the dot on this page. For unknown reasons, this extremely compressed matter exploded. Scientists have called this explosion the ‘Big Bang.’ In this way galaxies came into existence… After many billions of years, all the matter and energy of the universe will once again reach an enormous density, occupying no more space than a small dot on this page. Then another Big Bang will occur.” Prentice Hall General Science, 1992, p. 61.

“Nothing in the reality of the universe really means nothing (you have to be very clever to write books like this: Nothing simply means nothing!). In the distant future, once again, not only matter and energy will disappear, but also time and space. Physicists claim that about 20 billion years ago, from this state of nothingness, the universe came into existence as a result of the Big Bang.” HBJ General Science, 1989, p. 362.

What did the universe come from?

You see, children, “in the beginning was nothing“, and at some point “nothing” exploded, and that is how the universe came into existence! We exist because actual “nothing” exploded!

“The visible universe could have arisen from an infinitesimally small region. There is therefore a temptation to draw another conclusion, namely, that the universe arose literally from nothing.” Scientific American, May 1984, p. 128.

You see, children, at some point a tiny dot appeared, and that dot came from nowhere!

Something like this has been called science and placed in scientific textbooks. We, however, can boldly call it a fairy tale and put it in the rubbish bin.

IN THE BEGINNING — GOD OR MATTER?

When we tell an evolutionist that we believe that about 6,000 years ago God created heaven and earth, he will ask where God came from. We will answer: from nowhere!

But if an atheist says that he believes that approximately 20 billion years ago the universe came into existence from highly compressed matter the size of a dot, and we ask him where that matter came from, the answer will be the same — from nowhere!

What conclusion can we draw from this?

In both cases we can speak of religion. Why? Because if a claim requires faith, what is it? Religion.

Just as we accept by faith the biblical statement that God came from nowhere, the evolutionist must likewise accept by faith the claim that the matter which exploded came from nowhere!!!

I believe that in the beginning God…, while the evolutionist believes that in the beginning matter…

It is not true that only our view has something to do with religion while the Big Bang theory is science. No! Both theories are religion, because in both cases faith is required. In the evolutionist’s case, even much more faith is required.

Thus, in reality, it is a dispute between two religions: the religion of faith in God and the religion of faith in matter.

Yet whenever this subject is discussed, it is presented as a dispute between religion and science. Here is an example: “Leaders Representing Religion and Science Debate Evolution.” Times, 17 October 1999.

Evolution, however, is not science but a form of religion (an idolatrous one). The Bible has nothing against science, and in fact everything that can truly be called science harmonises with the content of the Bible.

The fact that athletes advertise beer does not mean that beer has anything to do with sport. Likewise, if some scientists promote evolution, it does not necessarily mean that science has anything to do with evolution.

THE DIRECTION OF PLANETS AND MOONS

Evolutionists believe that the universe arose from extremely dense matter which, while spinning clockwise at enormous speed, exploded, and therefore the universe also rotates clockwise and all celestial bodies set in motion in this way should move in one and the same direction. However, it has long been known that some celestial bodies, planets or moons move in the opposite direction:

“Six of the 63 moons belonging to the planets of the Solar System orbit in the opposite direction. Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune have moons orbiting in both directions.” Astronomical Almanac for the Year 1989.

A believing scientist was talking on an aeroplane with a scientist from Berkeley University about evolution. At one point, the scientist who supported creationism said:

— You believe that the universe arose from extremely dense matter which, spinning clockwise at enormous speed, exploded, and therefore the universe also rotates clockwise and all celestial bodies set in motion in this way should move in the same direction. Why, then, do some planets or moons move in the opposite direction?

— That is indeed puzzling, but I do not know why it is so.

— I know — replied the believing scientist. — It is because God wanted to arrange things in such a way that this observation would make the Big Bang theory look like a theory of big stupidity.

THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS

Another argument in favour of creationism and against evolution is the SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS, which tells us that everything tends towards disorder, towards increasing disorganisation, not the other way round. Everything deteriorates with time. The Big Bang theory, on the other hand, suggests that an explosion put everything in order.

The devil has somehow deceived scientists by imposing upon them the belief that energy alone is sufficient to bring matter into order.

During war, enormous amounts of energy are released, but this never produces order. A nuclear bomb is another extreme example. Its energy does not organise a destroyed city into something more complex and orderly. No matter how many times it is repeated it always produces destruction and disorder. Energy alone never creates organised complexity.

The principle of the second law of thermodynamics was expressed in one of the statements written by the apostle Paul:

“You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands; They will perish, but You remain; And they all will grow old like a garment…” (Hebrews 1:10–12).

As a result of the Big Bang, all celestial bodies should be evenly distributed throughout space, but they are not.

WHAT ARE CHILDREN BEING TAUGHT?

Children are taught in schools that they descended from apes, so what is the result?

It is often reflected in the appearance and strange behaviour of young people. Such a young person says: “Aha! My great-great-great-grandfather was an ape? Cool!” Therefore, it is hardly surprising that many young people seem to behave like their great-grandfathers!

What else could one expect?

Tell a young person from the earliest age that there is no Creator, there are no standards, and there is no such thing as good and evil. And then try to explain to them that there are things they should not do.

What will their reaction be?

— Why not?! — they ask in surprise.

DNA — THREE BILLION LETTERS IN THE RIGHT ORDER

Darwin knew nothing about DNA or the genetic code. Today we know that the human genome contains about 3 billion DNA “letters” — A, T, C and G — arranged in a precise order. This information helps control how our cells develop, function and reproduce.

Imagine a book containing 3 billion letters. Now imagine throwing those letters randomly onto the floor and expecting them to arrange themselves into a meaningful instruction book — with the letters in the right places, instructions that work together, and systems for reading, copying and repairing the information.

Adding millions or billions of years does not turn meaningless random letters into an instruction manual.

The probability problem becomes enormous very quickly. A protein only 100 amino acids long has about 10¹³⁰ possible sequences. Scientists studying the origin of life acknowledge that the number of possible protein and nucleic-acid sequences is astronomical and that all possible sequences could never have been randomly searched.

And there is an even deeper problem: DNA needs molecular machinery to read, copy and use its information, while that machinery depends on genetic information to be produced. This DNA–protein interdependence is a recognised origin-of-life problem.

It is like finding an instruction book together with an automatic factory that reads the book, builds its machines, copies the book and repairs copying errors.

For the creationist, this points powerfully to intelligence rather than blind chance:

Information requires a source.
a code points to intelligence.
life points to a creator.

WHERE DID THE INFORMATION IN DNA COME FROM?

DNA does not merely contain chemicals. The particular order of those chemicals carries biological information — instructions used to build, maintain and reproduce a living organism.

Natural selection can favour useful variations after they appear, but this leaves a deeper question: Where did the original biological information come from?

David Cowles and James Gibson use a helpful comparison. The meaning of a poem cannot be explained simply by studying the chemical properties of the ink. In the same way, the chemical properties of DNA do not by themselves explain the origin of the information encoded in its sequence.

For the creationist, information points naturally to an intelligent source.

ADAM’S SONS AND DAUGHTERS

Atheists often suggest that, in the beginning, Adam’s sons must have married his daughters, and atheists seem to think that this puts believers in a difficult position because the Bible can then be accused of promoting incest.

“After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.” (Genesis 5:4).

How many children would we have by now if we were 800 years old, had the vitality that Adam and Eve possessed, and lived at a time when having a large number of children was considered highly desirable?

Thus, in the first generation, Adam’s sons obviously had to marry their sisters.

At that time there was no law prohibiting marriage between a brother and sister. It was only 2,500 years later that God gave such a law through Moses. Previously, such a law was not necessary because there were no deformed chromosomes and therefore there was no danger of disabled or impaired offspring being born. Only with the passage of time did such deformities develop, and so God told Moses that from then on a new law had to be observed.

But if someone believes in evolution, he has a much greater problem to solve, because evolutionists believe that 5 billion years ago the Earth began to cool and that 4 million years ago the ocean formed, and that from rocks and water an “organic soup” developed in which complex chemical compounds eventually appeared, from which complex living organisms subsequently arose.

One textbook says that “the first system capable of replication must have been present in this organic soup.”

For life to arise, two cells of opposite sexes would have had to appear in this soup at the same time and in the same place, and they would have had to meet.

ADAM, NOAH AND ABRAHAM

When we read the Bible carefully, we can notice that because Adam lived for approximately 900 years, Noah was one of his living great-great-great-grandsons. Noah could have spoken with Adam for another 50 years!

We can imagine what family gatherings must have looked like in those days: “Come on, children,” Noah said, “today we are getting on the camel and going to see Grandpa Adam, who will tell us what life in Paradise was like!”

Noah’s son Shem also lived a very long time and could have spoken with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When we read the Bible, we do not notice this, but when we make a chart, it becomes obvious and astonishing. This means that Abraham must have known the account of creation, the history of the Fall, the description of Paradise, and what the antediluvian world was like in great detail.

DID GOD USE EVOLUTION TO CREATE THE WORLD AND LIFE?

Unfortunately, today even many Christians believe that the world is billions of years old. They believe that the Bible itself teaches this. They claim that God used evolution to create the world and life.

But if we accept such a view, we would have to admit that each individual day of creation was not a literal day but a very long period of time.

Yet in the Bible we read that God created the world by His word.

This means that if He created the world by speaking, He would have had to pronounce those words extraordinarily slowly if it took Him thousands or millions of years.

WORLD POPULATION AND THE AGE OF HUMANITY

As of 2026, the world population is approximately 8 billion people. The world population reached 6 billion in the year 2000. In 1995 there were 5 billion people in the world. In 1800 there was 1 billion. At the time when Jesus lived on Earth, there were approximately 250 million people.

No one doubts that the population is growing very rapidly. Nevertheless, the world is still not overpopulated.

We must calculate the gradual increase in population from the time of Noah, immediately after the Flood, approximately 4,400 years ago, and from that time until today the population increased to 8 billion. This took place over a period of approximately 4,000 years.

However, anyone who believes in the theory of evolution must accept that humans, at various stages of their development, have existed for approximately 3 million years. If this were so, then today — even taking into account diseases, wars, catastrophes and everything else that reduces the population — the population would have reached an unbelievable density. More precisely, population density would be so enormous that approximately 150,000 people would have to fit on every 2 square centimetres of land! It would be a little crowded on Earth.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER AND POPULATION REDUCTION

We have certainly heard about the New World Order. Many politicians and leaders are associated with this movement. These people believe that one of the main goals we should pursue is a drastic reduction of the world’s population to 500 million people.

Jacques Cousteau said: “We must eliminate 350,000 people every day in order to stabilise population density on Earth.”

Ted Turner said on CNN television that “the ideal solution would be to reduce the world population to 300 million.”

An interesting idea. All that remains is to ask the person who proposed it to be the first to set an example.

Prince Philip said: “If I were reincarnated, I would like to return to Earth as a virus in order to reduce the population of the Earth.”

In the USA, near the town of Elberton, there is a memorial monument built of stones by Freemasons in 1980. Ten commandments are engraved on these stones, but they are not biblical commandments. Commandment No. 1 says: “Maintain the population of the Earth at no more than 500 million.” These commandments were dictated to the Freemasons by so-called guardian spirits (demons)!

SIRIUS — FROM A RED TO A WHITE STAR

Textbooks dealing with the theory of evolution say that red stars evolve into white stars (dwarfs). Astronomers who support the theory of evolution claim that this process takes at least 100,000 years, or even millions of years.

There is, however, indisputable evidence that this too is not true. The best example may be the brightest star currently shining in the sky and one that is very familiar to us — the white star (white dwarf) Sirius.

According to this theory, Sirius’s transformation into its present white and bright state must have taken at least 100,000 years or even millions of years.

And here is what was written in antiquity about the appearance of this same star — Sirius:

Egyptian hieroglyphs dating from 2000 BC describe Sirius as a red star.

Cicero stated in 50 BC that Sirius was red.

Seneca described Sirius as a star even redder than Mars.

Ptolemy, in AD 150, listed Sirius as one of six red stars.

Today Sirius is a bright white star (a dwarf). How long did it take to transform from a red star into a white dwarf? Certainly not more than 100,000 years, but perhaps one thousand or at most two thousand years.

WHY ARE PLANETS STILL HOT?

Evolutionists also claim that not only stars but planets lose heat very slowly, yet it is now known that this process occurs much faster than evolutionists believe.

Suppose someone comes to my house and sits down at a table on which there is a cup of hot herbal tea. I tell my guest:

— Be careful with that tea because it is still hot.

Then the person asks where it came from. I reply:

— I don’t know. Apparently it has been standing here for thousands of years and it is still hot.

It is difficult to believe something like that, yet there are people who believe that planets are still hot even though they supposedly came into existence billions of years ago.

It is also known that Saturn, for example, is losing the material that makes up its rings fairly rapidly. If Saturn had come into existence billions of years ago, it would have lost its rings a very long time ago.

THE MOON IS MOVING AWAY FROM THE EARTH

It is also extremely interesting that as the Moon orbits the Earth, it is gradually moving farther away from our planet at a rate of approximately 10 cm per year. If the Moon had come into existence billions of years ago, it would long ago have escaped the Earth’s gravitational pull, broken away from our orbit and flown off into space.

And now, children, concentrate, because what I am about to say may be difficult:

The Moon is farther away from the Earth every year, which means that it used to be closer to the Earth. 🙂 How many of you understood that without anyone’s help?

Evolutionists claim that since the Moon is moving away from the Earth at this rate, it must once have been very close to our planet. We know, however, that the Moon causes tides, and the closer it was to Earth, the larger the tides would have been. It has therefore been calculated that if the Moon and the Earth came into existence billions of years ago, there must have been a time when the Moon caused tides so enormous that they flooded the entire Earth twice every day.

COSMIC DUST ON THE MOON

It is also known that cosmic dust constantly accumulates on the Earth and Moon at a rate of approximately 2.5 cm every 10,000 years. For this reason, scientists in the 1950s calculated that, considering the age of the Moon, there should have been a layer of dust more than 5 km thick!

But when astronauts landed on the Moon, it turned out that the dust on the Moon’s surface was only approximately 1.3 cm thick!

This means that it could have accumulated over what period of time? If scientists claimed that approximately 2.5 cm of dust accumulated over 10,000 years, then over what period could a 1.3 cm layer of dust have accumulated?

That is slightly more than half of the previous figure, so it is an amount that could have accumulated in approximately 6,000 years! And 6,000 years is exactly how long, according to the Bible, our planet together with its Moon has existed.

When the astronauts landed on the Moon, NASA specialists asked physicists and astronomers where all the dust that was supposed to be on the Moon had gone.

THE EARTH’S ROTATION

We know that the Earth rotates on its axis at a speed of approximately 1,500 km per hour, but it is known that this speed is constantly and gradually decreasing each day by approximately 1/1000 of a second (for this reason, approximately every year and a half, time is extended by about one second).

This obviously means that the farther back we go into the past, the faster the Earth should have rotated on its axis. If we accept that — as the Word of God suggests — the Earth was created 6,000 years ago, then the increase in the speed of the Earth’s rotation would not have been significant. But if we accept that the Earth came into existence billions of years ago, then the Earth would have had to rotate so rapidly that the time of day would change every second and the wind would reach a speed of 8,000 km per hour.

If we now accept that dinosaurs lived — as evolutionists claim — 200 million years ago, then at such a speed of the Earth’s rotation they would all have felt as though they were riding on a crazy merry-go-round.

ICE LAYERS AND THE AGE OF THE EARTH

A scientist who believed in creationism was invited by evolutionist scientists to a large laboratory in which enormous layers of ice were stored. These scientists go to the polar regions and drill holes in glaciers to determine their age. The deepest hole they had drilled in the ice was approximately 10,000 feet.

These mountains of ice contain thin layers that have been called annual growth rings. They differ slightly in shade. Some are lighter and others slightly darker. Based on this research, scientists concluded that because one such layer is added each year and there is a certain number of them, the northern climate was variable 135,000 years ago.

These scientists explained to the creationist scientist that the dark layers of ice form because in summer the upper layer of snow melts slightly and then freezes, forming a layer of clear ice that has a somewhat darker shade. During winter, however, the snow is compressed and forms a lighter layer of ice.

Therefore, one darker band and one lighter band in the glacier represent one year. On this basis, they calculated that the number of layers in the entire glacier demonstrated that this ice had been forming through at least 135,000 summers and winters.

— How, then, can you claim — the scientists said with a smile — that the Earth has existed for 6,000 years when we have proof here that it has existed for at least 135,000 years?!

The scientist who believed in creation suspected that there had to be some error in their calculations, but at that time he was unable to prove it.

THE LOST SQUADRON

After some time, however, he read an article entitled “The Lost Squadron” (Creation ex nihilo, June–August 1997, p. 10).

During the war, in 1942, an aircraft flying over Greenland went down with its crew into a deep layer of snow. In 1990, a decision was made to reach this aircraft through the thick layer of ice. It turned out that in 48 years the aircraft had become covered by a layer of ice 263 feet thick.

Let us calculate this for a moment:

263 feet in 48 years = approximately 5.5 feet in one year.

It is easy to calculate that if this layer of ice were 10,000 feet thick, like the layer studied by the evolutionist scientists, then at this rate of ice accumulation — 5.5 feet per year — the thickest layer of glacier studied by those scientists should have been only 1,824 years old, not 135,000 years old!!!

Furthermore, taking into account the fact that the deeper the ice, the more compressed and thinner its layers become, it was calculated that the thickest layer of ice on Earth could have accumulated over no more than approximately 4,000 years, which is exactly how long, according to the Bible, our planet has existed.

HUNDREDS OF ICE LAYERS IN 48 YEARS

Bob Cardin was the man who recovered the aircraft from the ice. The creationist scientist spoke with him personally and asked whether he had noticed layers in the ice while drilling through it. He replied that he had. The scientist then asked how many such layers had accumulated during those 48 years.

— Many hundreds — replied Bob Cardin.

— How is it possible that hundreds of layers of ice accumulated in only 48 years? After all, it is claimed that only one darker and one lighter layer should form each year?

— These are not layers that form annually (winter, summer, winter, summer), but layers produced by changes in temperature (warm, cold, warm, cold, etc.), which may occur several times during a single year!!!

Scientists, however, continue to claim that these are annual layers. A good example is an article published in Scientific American in February 1998. On page 82 the author explains that these layers of snow accumulate annually. There can be two conclusions: either he does not know the truth about the matter, or he is stubbornly lying.

Modern works dealing with evolution have little to do with science. They are works about the theory of evolution, but they are not scientific works.

THE OLDEST TREE ON EARTH

The oldest tree on Earth, a species of pine that still contains some biologically active tissue, is 4,300 years old and is located in Southern California.

It is the oldest living organism on Earth.

The oldest living tree at 4,723 years, Methuselah, is not identified for its own protection. Before 1964, a Bristlecone Pine named Prometheus in eastern Nevada was the oldest living thing at 4,950 years. But unfortunately, it was permitted to be cut down, after a coring device failed, for research purposes. Ironically it was that research that proved the tree to be the oldest living thing on Earth.

Allyn and Bacon Biology, 1977, p. 180, states that this tree is 4,300 years old (different textbooks give different ages, e.g. 4,500 years, etc.)

An important question:

If our planet has existed for billions of years, why are there no trees anywhere older than this one?

Why is the oldest tree 4,300 years old?

The answer is simple: God created the world 6,000 years ago, the Flood took place 4,400 years ago, so I assume that the oldest living organism (tree) on Earth can be no more than 4,400 years old — for example, 4,300 years, which is the age of “Methuselah,” the oldest tree on Earth!!!

DEATH CAME THROUGH SIN

There is a very serious problem with trying to combine the Bible with evolution. Evolution requires death, suffering, disease and the struggle for survival for millions of years before human beings appeared. But according to the Bible, God originally created everything “very good” (Genesis 1:31), and death entered the human world as a result of sin.

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin…” (Romans 5:12, NKJV).

The Bible even calls death “the last enemy” (1 Corinthians 15:26).

If God used millions of years of suffering and death to create life, then death was present long before Adam sinned and was part of God’s method of creation. But the Bible presents the opposite picture: sin brought death, and Christ came to defeat sin and death.

This is why Paul makes such a beautiful comparison between Adam and Christ:

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22, NKJV).

Without the Fall of Adam, the biblical explanation of why Christ came to save us loses much of its meaning.

HOW DID THE FIRST LIFE BEGIN?

Natural selection may help explain how already-living organisms change and adapt, but there is an obvious problem:

Before evolution can begin, there must already be something alive that can reproduce.

How did non-living chemicals become the first living, reproducing cell?

Even the simplest living cell requires an extraordinary combination of genetic information, proteins, membranes, energy-producing systems and molecular machinery working together.

DNA contains the information needed to make proteins, but proteins and complex cellular machinery are required to read, copy and use DNA.

So which came first?

The origin of the first self-reproducing living system remains one of the great unanswered questions in origins research.

THE CAMBRIAN EXPLOSION

If all major forms of animal life developed gradually from common ancestors, we might expect the fossil record to contain a long succession of increasingly complex forms leading to the major animal groups.

Yet one of the most remarkable features of the fossil record is what scientists themselves call the Cambrian explosion.

In a relatively narrow section of the geological record, many fundamentally different animal body plans appear remarkably abruptly. Walter Veith, who was formerly an evolutionist and zoologist, has pointed to this as one of the observations that caused him to question gradual Darwinian evolution.

Evolutionists have proposed explanations for the Cambrian explosion, but the basic fact remains striking: many of the major designs of animal life appear relatively suddenly in the fossil record rather than through an obvious, uninterrupted sequence of countless intermediate forms.

JESUS BELIEVED THE CREATION ACCOUNT

For a Christian, perhaps an even more important question than what Darwin believed is:

What did Jesus believe?

Jesus did not speak about Adam and Eve merely as characters in a symbolic story. He said:

“Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female’?” (Matthew 19:4, NKJV).

Jesus also spoke about Noah and the Flood as real events:

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:37, NKJV).

If we accept Jesus as the Son of God, we should take very seriously the way Jesus Himself understood Genesis.

EVOLUTION AND THE SABBATH

Who really inspired scientists to promote the theory of evolution so fiercely? Who wants humanity to believe that the world and life arose through evolution?

Satan.

Why? If he initiated this theory and caused it to become widely accepted and taught in schools, then the devil must have worked very hard to accomplish this, especially since it is one enormous collection of lies. The devil is constantly “brainwashing” young people, including our own young people, in schools by continually teaching them and repeating that the Earth came into existence as a result of the Big Bang billions of years ago.

Why is the devil so determined that people should not believe the biblical account of creation?

Against which biblical truth is the theory of evolution directed?

Against the truth about the Sabbath!

Why?

If a person rejects the biblical account of creation and concludes that God did not create the world and life in six literal days, but that the world and life arose by themselves and developed over billions of years, or that God created everything but did not do so during six literal days, instead taking billions of years, then what significance would any seventh day have?

But according to God and His Word, does that seventh day have significance?

Obviously it does, as is evident, among other things, from the fourth commandment:

By attacking the Sabbath, what is the devil really attacking?

Salvation, which is by faith in Christ and which is symbolised by the Sabbath.

SIX DAYS, THE SABBATH AND THE GOSPEL

Genesis repeatedly says:

“So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:5, NKJV).

Then there was a second day, a third day, and so on until the seventh day.

But perhaps the clearest explanation is found in the Ten Commandments:

“For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.” (Exodus 20:11, NKJV).

The pattern is beautifully simple:

God worked for six days — we work for six days.
God rested on the seventh day — we rest on the seventh day.

This is why the theory of evolution is particularly important for Seventh-day Adventists. The Sabbath is not an isolated doctrine. It is God’s weekly memorial of Creation.

And the Bible’s message goes even deeper.

The God who created the world by His power is also the God who can re-create us spiritually. The Bible begins with creation and ends with re-creation — “a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelation 21:1, NKJV).

Creation, therefore, is not merely an argument about the age of rocks, fossils or dinosaurs. Creation is connected with the Fall, the gospel, Christ, the Sabbath, the resurrection and our hope of a new earth.

If we believe that Christ can raise millions of dead people at His Second Coming and create a new earth, there is no reason to believe that the same Christ was unable to create this world in six literal days in the beginning.

NATURAL SELECTION SELECTS — IT DOES NOT CREATE EVERYTHING IT SELECTS

Natural selection is real. Organisms with characteristics better suited to their environment may survive and reproduce more successfully.

But natural selection can only select from variations that are available. It does not look into the future and deliberately build an eye, wing or brain because that structure will eventually be useful.

Therefore, demonstrating natural selection does not answer the bigger question: Where did the new genetic information and coordinated biological structures come from in the first place?

Natural selection may explain why a useful characteristic spreads through a population. That is very different from explaining the origin of fundamentally new biological systems.

VARIATION IS NOT THE SAME AS UNLIMITED EVOLUTION

Living organisms can change remarkably. Dogs are a simple example. Selective breeding has produced Chihuahuas, Great Danes, greyhounds and hundreds of other breeds.

The differences are enormous, but they are still dogs.

The important question is therefore not “Can organisms change?” Of course they can. The real question is whether observable variation proves that all living organisms descended from one common ancestor.

This is exactly what evolution cannot demonstrate directly. We can observe variation, adaptation and natural selection taking place today, but we cannot directly observe the supposed millions of years of transformations that evolutionary theory proposes for the origin of fundamentally different groups of organisms. Those events are reconstructed from evidence and interpreted within an evolutionary model.

Therefore, observable variation should not automatically be presented as proof of unlimited evolutionary change or universal common ancestry.

Creation offers another explanation: God created living organisms with an enormous built-in capacity for variation and adaptation, allowing them to diversify while remaining within their created lineages.

A NEW GENE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH

Genes do not operate independently.

A gene must be activated at the right time, in the right place and at the right level. Its product must then interact correctly with many other genes, proteins, cells and tissues.

Consider an eye. Light-sensitive cells alone are useless without nerves carrying information and a brain capable of interpreting it. A wing requires not merely modified limbs but appropriate bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, balance, metabolism and behavioural control.

The challenge is therefore not simply explaining the appearance of individual parts. It is explaining how many coordinated changes came together into a functioning system.

Such integration is exactly what we normally associate with design.

WHAT ABOUT THE GAPS IN THE FOSSIL RECORD?

If evolution were true, we should find many fossils showing clearly how one major type of animal gradually changed into another.

Instead, major groups of animals often appear in the fossil record already different from one another, with important gaps between them.

In simple words, we find many distinct groups, but the long chains of fossils needed to clearly show how one major group gradually became another are often missing.

This is especially striking in the Cambrian Explosion, where many very different animal body plans appear suddenly in the fossil record.

CREATION EXPLAINS BOTH STABILITY AND VARIATION

Nature shows two remarkable things at the same time: stability and variation.

Living organisms reproduce their basic biological characteristics with astonishing reliability, yet they also possess enough genetic flexibility to adapt to different environments.

Creation can explain both.

God did not need to create every modern species exactly as we see it today. He could have created distinct original kinds containing enormous genetic potential for later variation and adaptation.

This fits naturally with the repeated statement in Genesis that God created living things “according to their kind” (Genesis 1:21, 24–25, NKJV).

Observable adaptation therefore does not have to be evidence against creation. It may actually reveal the remarkable flexibility God built into living organisms from the beginning.
